1995 Travel Blog

From February 1995 to February 1996, i spent a year travelling round the world. I went from Australia to Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Mexico, England, Scotland, Spain, India, and Laos. A lot of the travelling was on buses, trains and ferries.

And while i travelled, i wrote about the journey – in the form of a travel book. I’ve had a couple of goes to get it published since then, but never really had the drive to do the vast amount of work required to find a publisher. If there’d been blogs in those days, i would have written it as a blog, but there weren’t, so i didn’t – although a lot of it was written directly onto my laptop.

I just started reading through it again yesterday and i’ve decided it’s time i made it into a blog. So i’m going to sort it out it over the next few months. It’s going to take a bit of reorganising to break it up into blog post sized chunks, but it’s mostly organised pretty much like that anyway.

Reading through it, though, it amazes me at how much really hard travelling i did during that year. Days on end on buses, boats, trains and planes. I feel quite exhausted reading bits of it and i’m kinda amazed that i ever wanted to travel again after that epic journey!

The story’s called Travelling By The Moon and you can read it at http://WillKemp-Words.com/travelling
