My first blog at SnapAndScribble.com
I’ve finally managed to set up some blog software on my own site. It’s not really configured the way i want it yet, but it will be soon. At the moment, i’m afraid, it looks a bit boring. But i’ll be sorting it out over the next day or two.
Since my last blog post (on a site owned by the evil Rupert Murdoch!
) i’ve been flat out teaching myself about web publishing and how to make decent web pages. My earliest attempts can be seen at WillKemp-Words.com/travelling – but the layout’s not great and the way i’ve made the pages isn’t good, so i’m going to be changing that as soon as i can.
My latest efforts, though, are a bit better. I’ve redone the blog i wrote while i was working in Afghanistan last year and the year before. You can check that out at WillKemp-Words.com/working_in_afghanistan
I think i’m starting to get the hang of this game now!
As well as those, i’ve put some of the photos i took in Afghanistan online at WillKemp-Photos.com/afghanistan – again, those pages are a bit bodgy (although not as bodgy as Travelling By The Moon!), and i’ll be improving on them soon too.
So, between all this nonsense and the weather, i haven’t been doing as much walking as i was a few weeks back – which isn’t so good, really. But the weather’s deteriorated drastically since my last blog post.
February was fantastic – much better than i could ever have imagined February being in this country. But since the start of March, we’ve had lots of cold wind, plenty of rain, and even some snow! The weather looks like it’s gradually improving and i’m hopeful that once March is out of the way we’ll have some nice days.
I’ve been swimming in the river here in April several times over the last few years. Considering i’ve only been in this country in April twice in that time, it’s reasonably hopeful. I’m not going to be holding my breath – cos nothing about the weather is guaranteed in this place – but i half expect to be able to get a bit of a dip in within the next few weeks!
At the moment, i’ve got this blog set up so you can leave comments without having to create an account and log in. I’ll see how that goes for a while, but i may end up having to make everyone who wants to comment on my blogs log in first.
But please feel free to leave a comment – and to let me know what you think about the web sites i’ve got online so far. Even if you think they’re crap!

To prevent spam, the first time you post a comment on this blog, it will be held for approval. After that, as long as you use the same name and email address, your comments will appear straight away.
Yes, i’m commenting on my own blog! Just to find out how blogs work.
Don’t worry about having to put your email address in – the only person that will ever see it is me, but it’s necessary to keep track of who’s commenting and make sure the comments thing doesn’t get abused. You’ll have to get approved the first time you post with your email address, but after that you should be able to comment freely as long as you keep using the same address.
