This Year

It’s been eight months since i wrote my last blog post, which is a long time between posts – and i can’t say it’s really gone that fast. But i guess it’s also partly because, these days, i post status updates on Facebook whenever i’ve got anything worth commenting on – and often when i haven’t, too! … Read more »

It’s been about a month since i wrote a proper blog post (apart from ancient travel stories etc, that is), so i thought it was time i said something about now…

The flower show’s a country show type of event, which is held in the village every year. Although my grandmother lived there when she was a little girl, i don’t think i’ve ever even been to Tillingham before – and i’ve certainly never been to the flower show.

The 30th of June is the last day of the financial year in Australia – so everyone will be either busily trying to sort out their tax return, or busily trying to put off sorting it out. I’m pleased to say that mine’s already lodged!

I managed to do it in record time this year – thanks to the miracle of the internet. And thanks to the fact that, for the first time in a few years, i didn’t have any periods of self-employment during the last tax year – which simplifies matters a bit. This year, too, for the first time in a couple of decades, as far as i remember, i should be getting a bit of tax back – which will be nice! … Read more »
